"Bringing Back the Bluebirds: An Ohio natural history and conservation workshop"
Presented by Bethany Gray, Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist (OCVN) and Tecumseh Land Trust Education Committee member
Learn about the plight of Eastern Bluebirds and other cavity-nesting birds in Ohio and how you can help them as they face loss of nesting habitat, harsh winters, pesticides, and competition from non-native species. Learn how to properly install and monitor a nest box, share data and cultivate plants that help bluebirds. Explore options for participating in bird counts and helping scientists.
Workshop is free but RSVP required so we have adequate handouts. A limited number of nest boxes with accompanying poles & baffles will be available for purchase, at cost, for $35.
Saturday, January 28, Clark County Heritage Center, 117 S. Fountain Ave., Springfield. 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. (Co-hosted by Tecumseh Land Trust, Clark County Historical Society and Ohio Bluebird Society). RSVP to Ardath Dellapina or Anna Roberts at The Heritage Center at 937-324-0657 by Jan. 25.
